The History of the Super Bowl
The Super Bowl is the annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL). It is the culminating event of the NFL season, and is one of the most watched sporting events in the world. The Super Bowl has grown from a single game in 1967 to a week-long series of events culminating in the championship game.
The Origins
The Super Bowl began in 1966, when the NFL and the newly-merged AFL (American Football League) agreed to a merger. The first game was played on January 15, 1967, between the Green Bay Packers of the NFL and the Kansas City Chiefs of the AFL. The Packers won the first game, 35-10.
Since then, the Super Bowl has been held annually in January or February. The game is traditionally held in a stadium that can accommodate a large crowd, such as the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, or the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

Super Bowls of the Future
